Handcrafted in CA, USA by Cisco, employing Inside Green™ technology.
The 100% sustainable, smart, healthy and responsible method of building high end design furniture made entirely from all natural materials. These materials are superior in terms of comfort and lifespan, but also inherently flame-retardant and hypo-allergenic.
Inside Green™ pieces contain no petroleum products, harmful chemicals or flame retardants like Chlorinated Tris, one of the most harmful ones, commonly used on seating foam.
What's in your chair?
  FSC® Certified 100% domestic lumber:
The frame comes with a Lifetime Warranty. The backbone of Inside Green™ furniture is the sturdy construction and framing made entirely of FSC-Mixed Certified kiln dried hardwoods such as Maple and Alder, with reinforced, double dowelled stress joints and heavily braced corner blocks. In order for wood to be Forest Stewardship Council certified, the forest practices at each site must adhere to FSC’'s standards on the rights of indigenous people and workers, and must follow strict guidelines regarding environmental impact. These carefully chosen lands are constantly monitored and assessed to ensure that conditions, yield, and management are always up to FSC’s high standards.  (Certificate FSC®-C002394)
  Eight-Way Hand-Tied Seating Support:
The most intricate seating support system available and the most comfortable. It consists of eight-gauge support coils secured and individually hand tied eight ways to the frame. Each coil has an independent range of motion for maximum support. While most furniture manufacturers use preassembled, drop-in units bolted to the frame, all Inside Green™ eight-way support systems are hand tied into FSC Certified Maple hardwood frame to ensure they never squeak or rust. This is a labor intensive activity and always includes Soft-edge front support.
  Organically grown jute and hemp.
Sustainable, organically grown jute and hemp is used in the classic eight-way hand-tied construction of every Inside Green™ sofa and chair. This traditional and durable method, combined with the strength of these natural fibers provides the ultimate in comfort, quality and longevity. Jute is a strong natural fiber that is completely biodegradable and recyclable. Jute crops are rain fed and hardly ever need the use of fertilizers and pesticides.
  Low VOC wood stain:
Applying a responsible and human safe stain is a must. WOCA natural oil stains used are plant-based, sustainable, non-polluting and contain no artificial pigments or preservatives.
  Natural and Organic Latex:
GOLS certified Organic and Natural Dunlop Latex is a logical choice for people who have health concerns or allergies, as it is an antimicrobial material and naturally resists mold and dust mites. Not to be confused with synthetic latex, Natural Latex is inherently hypo-allergenic, renewable, and biodegradable.
Derived from the whipped and baked resin of the Hevea tree, latex is the most naturally durable cushioning material available. Its open-cell structure helps to relieve pressure points and provides orthopedic support at any angle.
  Organic Wool:
For those seeking to avoid petroleum products like foam entirely, Inside Green™ technology exclusively uses EcoWool as a healthy and more comfortable alternative. EcoWool is sourced from family farms in Oregon and California and is harvested using only the most humane and modern forms of sheep shearing. The farms that these sheep come from follow the strictest guidelines of proper grazing methods and healthy veterinary practices. No chemicals or harmful pesticides are used in the grazing fields. Sourcing wool from these small farms keeps the shipping and ecological footprint to a minimum, and helps stimulate local economies here in the US.
Once the wool has been sheared and gathered, it is skirted and washed using biodegradable soaps in machines that run on recycled water. No carbonizing, chemical crimping, dipping, bleaching or mulesing is practiced ever on the wool used. And here’s the best part: beyond all of the naturally beneficial elements that pure wool brings (it acts as a natural air purifier, is resistant to mold and mildew, keeps cool in the summer and warm in the winter), it can easily pass all of the fire tests that chemically treated foams must pass. Thus, EcoWool is human safe in all respects.
  Organic goose feathers and down:
Goose feathers have long been seen as the industry standard for the ultimate in comfort and durability, yet only 5% of today’s most popular brands use actual feathers due to their cost. Every InsideGreen™ pillow is filled with goose feathers and down, sourced from farms that raise geese for food consumption - completing a vertically integrated business model which is both financially and ecologically beneficial to local economies and the end consumer. The feathers and down are separated by hi-tech machinery and are washed in biodegradable emulsifiers before being packed into 250 thread-count, 100% organic cotton covers.
  Organic Cotton:
Organic Cotton comes from plants that are grown without any chemicals such as fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides, employing sustainable methods like crop rotation and natural ways of suppressing harmful insects, preserving soil fertility and benefiting cotton farming communities.
Natural and Organic Fabrics:
Local mills as well as mills abroad collaborate to develop unique designs, colors, textures and weaves from all natural fibers. Linens, Denims, Twills, Cottons and other fibers used are carefully screened for quality when received. Most fabrics are carefully treated with all natural, biodegradable cleaning products and fabric softeners, to enhance softness and texture. These cleaning agents contain no harmful chemicals such as ammonia, chlorine, formaldehyde, phosphates or colorants. Delicate fabrics, such as silks, are given a backing - a process which increases durability and provides a more tailored look.
NoScotch-Gard or any other soil protection spray is applied to the fabrics.
Fabrics are also available by the yard. As a result of potential shrinkage, washed fabrics may not reflect original bolt width from the mill. We do not recommend that customers wash their own fabrics. Please contact us for pricing and details.
