Locally handmade and handsewn, the Urban Basics eco-friendly mattress features Texas cotton layers on both sides of a steel, heavy duty bonnel spring unit that comes wrapped with padding. Cotton ticking, the top quality wrapping for a mattress, complete this all natural bed.

A firm mattress, Urban Basics supports evenly the entire length of your body, guaranteeing a comfortable, healthy rest. It is a two sided mattress, which considerably extends its lifetime.

MATERIALS

American Natural Cotton. Natural cotton’s ability to ventilate and draw off perspiration and high humidity lets your bed breath, unlike synthetic materials. This allows for a dry, more comfortable and healthier night's sleep.

Heavy duty bonnel spring unit wrapped with padding.

Natural cotton ticking. A sturdy, tightly woven heavy cotton fabric wrapping, was traditionally made to keep feather shafts and straws in mattresses. Cotton's breathing ability makes it an ideal partner for your bedding. It also eliminates mattress slippage and is lace tufted by hand.

Unlike any softer wool wrapping, or any synthetic quilting, cotton ticking is the top quality wrapping used for mattresses. 

CUSTOM MADE MATTRESSES: Any shape or size.

Besides standard sizes, we also custom make antique sizes, round beds, cut out corner mattresses, crib mattresses, etc. Each custom bed is built to your requirements, whether ten feet long or strong enough to withstand hundrends of pounds. Delivery Time
Right when you place an order, our professional urbangreen team embraces it with care. Your order is not sitting in a warehouse of boxed imports. We handcraft the designs you picked and apply your toxin free colors in Brooklyn USA. Most orders are ready to leave our shop within fifteen to twenty business days, custom crafted orders within thirty business days. Delivery time varies based on the shipping option you choose:

Factory pick up:
You will receive an automated email when you place your order. Within 48 business hours, once your order is processed, you will receive an email letting you know when your order will be ready for pick up from our Brooklyn shop with directions. No shipping or handling costs apply for this option.

NY Metropolitan area white glove delivery:
This option covers a 25 mile radius area around our Brooklyn plant and costs a flat fee of $169 per order, not per piece. You will receive an automated email when you place your order. Within 48 business hours, once your order is processed, you will receive an email with your delivery date. Your order will be delivered by our experienced team inside your home wrapped in blankets and set up in your room of choice. No waste from wrapping materials. All regular size items come fully assembled. We will assemble larger items for you at no extra cost. Please make sure that the items you purchase will fit through your doorways, hallways, staircases or any turns. Please indicate in the Notes box upon checkout whether your order has to be carried up more than two flights of stairs.
If there are any building restrictions such as time, certificate of insurance, etc. please indicate in the Notes box upon checkout and we will make the proper arrangements.

Outside the NY Metropolitan area:
For customers who live beyond our local area orders will be shipped ground service via parcel service or Common Freight carrier depending on the size of the shipment and is a curbside delivery. You may price your delivery on the cart page.
Curbside delivery service provides delivery of your item(s) to your home or business front door during normal business hours. There is no advance appointment call made on parcel service or small pieces; however, someone needs to sign for the shipment. 

On deliveries made by common freight carriers your item(s) are delivered on a wood pallet, curbside where your driveway meets the street. Garage delivery or Inside Delivery may be available for an extra charge depending on the area of delivery. A telephone call is made by the shipping company in advance to set the day of delivery and will schedule a delivery appointment of 4-8 hours on the day of your delivery. DELIVERY TIMES ARE NOT GUARANTEED.

The freight company will deliver between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday-Friday ONLY. This service does not include set up or assembly of items or removal of packaging materials.

We offer shipping to the contiguous 48 states. Please contact us for assistance on delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada or e-mail us for more details. No shipments to P.O. Box address.

 *Transit and delivery times for ground service are estimated between 2 to 10 business days from the day that the order has left our shop. Customers are more than welcome to expedite their order by personally picking up their order at the terminal when it arrives, please contact us regarding this or if you need expedited shipping service.
